Our Engineering department is looking forward to welcoming a Field Service Engineer/Technician.

To strengthen our team we are looking for an independent, enthusiastic and experienced Field Service Engineer/Technician. You will be working from home and on-site with our customers on a defined perimeter with occasional travel to surrounding countries. In this role you will partner with customers to provide technical support and innovative solutions. We measure our success in terms of Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, and Customer Satisfaction. We are looking for professional, motivated, friendly, independent, and technically savvy Engineers who do what it takes to look after our customers and represent our high standards.

In this role you will

  • Calibrate, provide preventative maintenance and repair of electronic instruments (microscopes and related equipment) at customer sites throughout the country with some travel to surrounding countries

  • Build and maintain relationships to delight our customers.

  • Timely input and updates to service records, reporting, etc.

  • Work closely with Product Support and R&D to improve our customer solutions.

  • Manage schedules, spare parts, quoting, billing, and capture of customer feedback.

  • Ownership, Responsibility and Accountability

  • We do expect everyone in the team to respond to our customers’ needs quickly and with minimum overhead. Our team takes ownership, to drive to solutions for our customers.

  • The role requirements

  • Degree in Electro-mechanical or Electrical Engineering or will consider equivalent work experience

  • Experience maintaining electro-mechanical / electrical systems at customer sites - scientific research instruments, metrology, analytical measurement, medical devices or similar optical equipment would be an advantage, but we are also open to junior profiles

  • Dutch, French and English (verbal and writing)

  • Ideally you're based in the eastern or central area of Belgium

  • Strong IT skills

  • Strong communication skills and able to deliver a great service to all of our clients

  • Strong team-player, someone who is motivated and driven to provide a good customer experience

  • Clean driver’s license required and a valid current passport.

  • Flexible with travel – 75% field based
