Thermodynamics-mechanical engineer

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiast engineer to join the heat to power team in Airtec to develop core components and solutions that support our customers in putting new products on the market that save carbon emissions.

After several years of research, we have developed the knowledge to use our compressor elements and heat exchangers in products that convert heat back into valuable energy. We look forward to continue this journey with you.

  • You participate in the development and testing of new products. You will focus on thermodynamical and mechanical investigations, calculations and design.
  • You develop, validate and improve physical models based on test data in the lab and endurance tests at customer locations.
  • You support new designs based on the developed numerical models.
  • Your main responsibilities are:Model the thermodynamical and mechanical behaviour of the products and its components in Matlab.Keep the synergy with the compressor and cooler Matlab models of the other development teams.Development of core componentsMake test plans for lab and field tests and follow up of these tests.Verify the technical and economic feasibility of different designs.Evaluate energy streams in customer installations and look for opportunities for waste heat recuperation.Follow up implementation of waste heat recuperation in customer installations.
  • You build and guard the knowledge about the end product and it’s components by solving knowledge gaps in a structured PDCA way.
  • You actively share your knowledge with all stakeholders with special attention to the customer and business development.
  • You participate actively in the decisions to develop the product and the business.

    Experience requirements

  • Good knowledge of English and Dutch
  • A first experience in an engineering function is a plus.
  • Educational requirements

  • University degree in engineering; Mechanical engineering with a thermodynamics focus
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink or similar software
  • Personality requirements
