Telematics Systems engineer - Antennas Department - AGC Technovation Centre:
As one of the research units at the Technovation Centre, the Antennas Department employs approximately 20 people. Its mission is to engage AGC into the connectivity world revolution, for transportation-mobility and smart-cities. We are building together a unique glass based antenna portfolio and operating an exclusive measurement service centre around a high tech large dimension anechoic chamber. Based on such assets, we aim at developing functional telematics with complete End-to-End System, acting as a technical enabler in addressing multiple use cases around connectivity and urban mobility.
We are looking for a Telematics Systems Engineer to lead the design of telematics and connected systems.
As such, you will Telematics System projects from definition & KPI, feasibility study, POC, testing & debug, and serial phase;
Specify, design, develop, coordinate and support the definition, the architecture, the performance KPI and the integration of Telematics systems;
Identify partners and suppliers with the support of our business development manager in order to build prototypes and demonstrators;
Prepare data and documentation of design activities for the different sub-systems and collaborate/supervise software engineers, board design engineers, signal and power integrity teams etc... to ensure the efficient and timely completion of project;
Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable;
Drive design reviews, FMEAs, Safety Analyses and Hazard and Risk Assessments;
Define test plans to validate Phy-Layer KPIs as well as higher layer protocols;
Develop efficient capabilities for the testing, diagnosis, and debugging of the system. This includes developing or supervising development of scripts for test automation and the control of hardware interfaces. Optionally, recommend acquisition of new testing equipment and/or propose subcontractors to run tests and validation;
Document test plans/results, analyze data, and communicate results with the team and various stakeholders;
Travel, whenever necessary, to plants, supplier facilities, and customer field test sites, to resolve problems, explore design alternatives, and provide general support.
What are we looking for?
You hold a Master Degree in engineering, computer science or physics in related field telecom, antenna, electromagnetics, ...);
You have a strong experience with connectivity and telematics systems, as well as knowledge of automotive grade communication and infotainment systems, CAN bus, etc..;
You have strong practical experience in hardware testing, test setup design, and test scripting;
You have a good knowledge of telematics commercial solutionq, testing kits, ready-to-use modules, etc... on the main connectivity technologies (Cellular/WLan/DSRC-V2X, Bluetooth/GNSS/... );
You are proactive, self-learner, multi-task. You meet deadlines and have the ability to pay attention to details while managing different projects in parallel;
You are flexible and comfortable in working quickly in a changing environment;
You are ready to work in shifts and or overtime whenever required by a project;
Fluent in English. Basic knowledge of French or a willingness to learn.
