We are currently looking for a talented person to take on the role of TechOps Capital Cluster Category Manager In this role, your responsibilities will be as follows: * Responsible for effective Business Partnering and Communication & Collaboration for all TechOps Categories at the Belgium sites o Responsible for managing the relationships to the site business partners, mostly engineering and maintenance ensuring proper service provision (customer service) for all TechOps Capital Categories; o Responsible for collaboratively prioritizing preferred suppliers in agreement with the global Capital Subcategories o Manages escalations regarding priorities within Belgium sites and involves global or regional stakeholders, e.g. Capital Category Management or SCPO, in alignment and coordination with the TechOps Capital Cluster Lead and Cluster Lead o Responsible for monitoring compliance and adherence to Novartis Procurement policies and procedures for her/his Category within the Cluster and for all TechOps Capital Categories for the Belgium sites o Support the implementation of global category sourcing strategies, where available, and coordination of development/implementation and execution of sourcing strategies for the Belgium sites * Category Management (C&ES) o Develop and maintain local market intelligence for the Category and its sub-Categories (i.e. Engineering Services, Construction Management / General Contractor, Trades). o Responsible for local governance of C&ES and provides support for global and regional supplier consolidation. o Manages the local Supplier Data Base (new entries, supplier performance, exit of under-performing supplier) and participates in supplier audits. o Performs local (cluster) Demand Management for the Category and sub- Categories o Is accountable for compliant procurement and adherence to Novartis Procurement Processes incl. Responsible Procurement within the area of responsibilities incl. direct and indirect reports * Project support o Lead procurement for small and mid-size Projects (< 10 MUSD) Owns Capital Procurement for the Category and sub-Categories in all aspects Develops and manages generic Sourcing Strategies at cluster/site level Owns and executes the Project Procurement Plan Manages claims and supplier performance issues at site level o Support for Large Projects (>10 MUSD) Contributes to Sourcing Strategies and Procurement Execution Plans incl. Project specific Productivity and Saving Targets Coordinates project transfer out of and into the cluster/sites Contributes to Supplier Performance Management for Large Projects in the cluster/sites * Category Management (Equipment and EMS) o Provide local market intelligence for the Categories Equipment and EMS and its sub-Categories to the Cluster Category Manger based in Spain. o Responsible for local governance of Equipment and EMS and provides support for global and regional supplier consolidation. o Key contact for Engineering in relation to Equipment/EMS categories i.e. acts as a Business Partner for the Belgium sites and aligns strategies, tactics and execution with the Cluster Category Manager based in Spain
Minimum requirements - Bachelor's degree required at a minimum, Master's degree preferred; in fields such as engineering, business administration, finance, law or a scientific discipline - Fluent in Local Languages served by the cluster and English - additional languages an advantage - Minimum 5 years' experience in area of Capital Procurement - Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in end to end Capital Project Execution in an international environment - Minimum of 3 years' experience in contract development and management - Strong knowledge in contracting strategies - Broad experience in Performance Management - Leadership experience for the management of internal and external resources in international environment and within a matrix structure - Strong influencing skills for key stakeholders within sites (engineering, maintenance, finance, QA, etc.) - Strong interdisciplinary knowledge
