About Precious Metal Refining
The world's resources are scarce. Umicore's refining and recycling technology gives used metals a new lease of life. We are experts in treating the most complex materials from around the world. Our processes help bring value to the circular economy and reduce environmental impacts. To recover more metal from different types of material we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new processes. This is where you come in.
What you will be doing
In this role you will be responsible for the electrical and metrological design of installations.
Starting from a P&ID-scheme you prepare in an autonomous way the designs and define the drawing work with external engineering agencies. Also, the drafting of the technical specifications for tenders and orders of the instrumentation and electrical files are part of the job.
You conduct technical discussions with the suppliers where you challenge the tenders to the technical specifications.
In collaboration with the project managers you make the preparations for cost estimates and the planning for the realisation of the project. During the meetings with internal customers you provide explanation about the detailed proposals regarding technical aspects, budget and realisation timelines. Next to the study you are responsible for the follow up of the execution of the work and you will be involved in the start-up to guide to project to the end.
Keeping up to date and securing the electrical schemes is also a task that will demand quite some time and steering from your site.

* You have a bachelor or master degree specialized in electricity or measurement and control technology.
* Knowledge of electricity and instrumentation is a must.
* Experience in an engineering environment and knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
* You are able to work with MS-office is a must, as well with Autocad 2014.
* You can work independently and you set priorities.
* You are analytical and are able to work in a structured way.
* You are assertive and a strong communicator.
* You are result driven and able to cope with time pressure and deadlines.
* You are flexible and a teamplayer.
* Due to your creativity and your distinct technical skills you are able to finish your assignments in a successful way.
You are fluent in English and willing to learn Dutch quickly.
