What you'll do
* Produce great, elegant and simple code in a dynamic, diverse and shared environment.
* Design, implement and maintain state-of-the-art algorithms in Java.
* Be a contributor to our system architecture, able to prototype proposed solutions
* Constantly grow, led by your curiosity to grab the many development opportunities at TomTom and stay up to speed with the latest tools and techniques in an ever-changing technological landscape.
What you'll need
* 6+ years of experience in Software Development
* Your Java programming skills and engineering know-how are impressive.
* Good knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Bash etc.)
* Knowledge of modern programming technologies and approaches (OOP, Functional programming, Design Patterns, SOLID principles, TDD, Service Oriented Architecture, cloud based architecture)
* Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS or Cloud Foundry), automated testing, CI techniques and tools, design patterns and clean code principles
* Knowledge of GeoSpatial tech stack (GDAL/OGR, Rasterio, Shapely, Numpy, Xarray etc.) and SQL/NoSQL databases
* Familiarity with Unix/Linux
What's nice to have
* Knowledge of DevOps tools like Gradle, Git, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible is a plus
* You love working as part of a self-organizing Scrum team in a scaled, agile environment
* You might have knowledge in one (or several) of these areas: Big Data, Geospatial processing, Machine learning & Artificial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, Cloud Computing, API security

We're Maps, a product unit within TomTom's Location Technology Products technical unit. Our team is comprised of over 2,000 people in 40 countries - all driven to deliver the most up-to-date, accurate and detailed maps for the hundreds of millions of people using TomTom maps around the world. Joining our team, you'll help continuously innovate our map-making processes, create a real-time closed loop between detected changes in the real world and the users' map, and build maps that will enable the future of autonomous driving.
