You are able to derive hardware requirements and generate design concepts to satisfy operational and functional requirements in the development of AGV’s.
You utilize engineering skills to solve engineering problems at the component through system level in collaboration with mechanical engineering, software engineering production/testing and customer service disciplines
You guide and support prototyping and testing utilizing existing production / test protocols and procedures or develop new ones as needed.
You apply engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products as well as product changes and enhancements
You Follow Design Control procedures for proper development and control of design plans, design documents and specifications, protocols, results, etc. Maintain and update Design Control procedures as required.
You oversee outside suppliers and consultants as required
You develop a knowledge and understanding of KION’s products, customers, and customer needs.

What We Are Looking For
Master’s degree or comparable training, preferably with a technical engineering focus
Approximately ten years of relevant experience within Automation Industry, (Automated) Material Handling Solutions, Machinery & Industrial Engineering or related electrical controls industries.
Very strong technical knowledge and understanding
You preferably have experience in working in an AGILE environment;
You are diplomatic, open minded, flexible, creative and have strong communication skills;
You preferably have experience with Fieldbus technology, safety controllers (SICK Flexi-soft), 3D-camera technology, positioning sensors and encoders.
You have knowledge of EPLAN, EPLAN Pro Panel, E3 design software
Working knowledge of ERP/PLM systems and issue tracking systems (SAP, JIRA..) is an asset.
Ability to operate in a global team and to perform in a global matrix organization
Fluent in English, proficient in Dutch. German and French is an asset
