The primary purpose of the Reliability Engineer (RE) is to analyse the performance of the MPU/Site facilities in terms of safety, reliability, availability and maintenance costs. Working closely with the operating team and engineers of several disciplines you will maintain and optimize the technical performance in terms of reliability, safety and environmental integrity of the MPU/Site operating installations. You will develop, implement and manage preventive maintenance, inspection and overhaul plans, as well as troubleshooting and providing technical support to ensure delivery of cost effective solutions.
The RE will lead interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement systemic solutions for operational and technical issues. The RE ensures that required methodologies, such as criticality analyses and asset criticality ranking, RBI, RCM, FMECA and spare parts studies, are available and facilitates related workshops. The RE must be able to work closely with individuals from all engineering disciplines, crafts, and operators in order to create a proactive defect elimination mindset.
The RE also reviews and approves maintenance plans, both internal and external, ensuring that all maintenance service contracts are integrated properly.
The RE provides input in the maintenance related part of the OPEX budget.
The Reliability Engineer reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsible for the implementation of the maintenance strategy for GSK facilities
Responsible for the facilitation of the Reliability Engineering work process to assure that we are identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating reliability threats in the plant
Responsible for deriving and updating preventive maintenance, inspection and calibration programs. He/ she derives, reviews and controls regularly preventive maintenance and inspection plans, based on risk analysis and criticality ranking of assets, and meeting business requirements (availability, EHS, TCO, and reliability)
Reviews regularly the content of maintenance/services contracts with OEM’s and service providers
Periodically monitors asset performance and analysis of performance losses and the effectiveness of current maintenance strategies, based on reliability expertise and reliability characteristics, modes and risks of failure
Assessment of bad-actors in terms of safety, reliability, availability and maintenance cost
Facilitates RBI, RCM and FMECA workshops as required
Reporting of various reliability metrics within and outside the site to track and manage safety, reliability, availability and maintenance cost issues
Assessment of deficiencies in spare-part management and determines (critical) spare parts plan and item catalogue gatekeeping
Provides input for the maintenance related part of the OPEX budget, in cooperation with maintenance manager
Provides input to configure the maintenance management system (SAP) (such as asset breakdown structure, PM plans, task lists, bill of materials etc.)
Ensures consistent use of root cause analysis tools on assessment of all high risk reliability incidents
Responsible for all aspects of management of technical changes (MoC) (initiation, evaluation, communication, validation, planning, implementation and update of preventive maintenance plans, manuals and documentation, spare part inventory and training)
Provides Life Cycle Cost analysis use for new equipment selection when required
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Engineering degree at BSc/MSc level
Education in reliability engineering and/or maintenance management
Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in reliability engineering in oil and gas industry
Experience with CMMS, preferably SAP
If you have the following characteristics it would be a plus:
Working Knowledge of maintenance contracts and spare parts management
Knowledge of condition based performance monitoring systems
VCA VOL certified
Skilled in Maintenance methodologies like RBI, RCM, FMECA and CBM and corresponding tools
Skilled in Root Cause Failure Finding techniques such as RCA, Kepner & Tregoe©
A sound understanding of reliability- and maintenance engineering and broad knowledge of equipment dominant failures
Strong in IT data mining and processing of data
Experienced in facilitating, planning and organizing multi-disciplined workshops like RCA, RBI, RCM, FMECA
Must be able to exercise good judgment in order to set priorities
Easy communication in English, speech and writing
Ability to work under pressure, solve challenges, get support and make decisions.
