Alstom has been part of Belgian railway history for 130 years through its connection with the former rail transport equipment subsidiary of SA Ateliers de Constructions Électriques de Charleroi (ACEC). Today, Alstom Belgium employs 1050 people and is involved in approximately 100 major projects worldwide.

The site in Charleroi has developed unique expertise in electrical and electronic systems within two centres of excellence that operate at a global level : one focuses on traction systems and the other on signalling and railway traffic control systems, with a particular emphasis on equipment that complies with the European standard (European Rail Traffic Management System/ ERTMS). The teams develop systems, manufacture prototypes, perform tests and trials, complete approval procedures and manage integration projects. An after sales service activity completes the offer for these product groups. Alstom Belgium pursues an ambitious growth strategy by actively investing in R&D. The work carried out by its team of 100 research engineers makes a significant contribution to the development of a sustainable rail transport system.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Product Industrial Manager (PIM) position reports directly to the Industrial Operations Performance & Digital Transformation Manager.

He/She will have to manage industrial Quality, Cost and Delivery of products during their whole life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The PIM is ensuring that the products for which he/she is accountable remain manufacturable and repairable during their lifecycle and that those products are produced in line with the industrial QCD objectives.

This general objective is detailed as follows:
* Defines the Industrial Requirements specification and defines the generic product industrial breakdown structure;
* Defines the product industrial scheme up to storage of finished product. In particular, defines the make or buy strategy and manages the industrial transfers linked to their products in collaboration with sourcing and industrial operations, taking into account project impact;
* Guarantees the manufacturability and reparability of their products during their life cycle, ie guarantees the availability of all static industrial data in ERP and of production/testing tools, manages obsolescence and coordinates the resolution of all the industrial issues occurring internally and externally;
* Ensures that the industrial QCD objectives are met (average production cost, production/repair lead time, test coverage...) as defined in the Industrial Requirement Specification using continuous improvement methodologies;
* Manages the product reference library, including standard costs, lead times, part numbers any other relevant industrial parameters; quotes the recurrent and non-recurrent industrial activities as required for tenders;
* Ensures that the industrial reviews are passed on time and provides the prototypes for products in development phase;
* Coordinates the execution of the industrial actions decided by the Industrial Change Control Board (impact on manufacturing file, production, stocks, suppliers);
* Coordinates and follow-up the internal and external industrial stakeholders for the scope of the products they are responsible for (including internal and external suppliers) by mitigating risk.

SKILLS & EDUCATION

Educational Degree: Engineering degree (bac + 4 or bac + 5) or equivalent experience

Technical Competencies:
* At least 2 years' experience as (Product / Process / Manufacturing) Engineer within an industrial organization;
* Relevant knowledge or experience of project management is a must;
* Experience of supplier and quality management is an asset;
* Knowledge of ERP / MRP tools (SAP) and or PLM, PDM tools (TeamCenter, VPM, ENOVIA) is an asset;
* Excellent knowledge of MS office;
* Fluent in English and in Dutch.
