Huntsman has great opportunity for a hands-on yet strategic Procurement Director to lead our raw materials portfolio of over €400m across the EMEA region.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Director you will be leading a small team to drive continuous value generation for Huntsman and identify and implement improvements, whilst being the key point of contact for some of our largest suppliers. This is a role that requires excellent negotiation and communication skills, not only with our key suppliers but to partner with senior leadership teams in our divisions, to driving a culture of “best in class” within the European Procurement team.
Skills & Experience Required:
Degree qualification with experience in a Senior Management / Director level role and responsibility for leading a progressive and innovative procurement strategy.
Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate as part of a global, matrix organisation and with key suppliers.
Excellent negotiation and commercial skills and able to both negotiate high value contracts and maximise profit generation.
Demonstrable track record in identifying and implementing improvements focused on automation and digitalisation.
Experience in Global category management practices with the ability to take ownership and accountability of a complex portfolio.
Background in leading or supporting change management practices whilst leading and developing a small team
Experience in digital office tools such as SAP and (ideally) Ariba
Knowledge of the chemical manufacturing sector is essential with any experience in Polyurethanes, Polyols, Olefins and/or Olefin-Oxide markets being highly desirable
Additionally, as the Procurement Director, you will:
Lead the overall procurement requirements and strategies for a large and complex portfolio, which includes feedstocks and raw materials (e.g. Olefins, Olefin Oxides Polyols, External Tolling and Contract manufacturing)
Support in the strategic guidance of the function across all streams as an active member of the Procurement Leadership Team
Manage an agile regional procurement strategy which can be adapted in line with divisional objectives and strategic organisational developments.
Develop and maintain robust and productive relationships with strategic and critical suppliers which result in increased innovation and ideation to support our business stakeholders and which contrite to new business opportunities.
Manage EAME Directs team, to identify improvement opportunities in Global category management, procurement process, digitalisation and supplier relationships to deliver value to our business divisions.
Ensure best TCO is negotiated to maximize business profitability, cost reduction and productivity improvement targets.
Assume personal leadership of major projects as appropriate, and oversee the development and implementation of the procurement strategy for the different categories
Safeguard all corporate EHS, governance and compliance standards and ensure they are met or exceeded
Act with exemplary behaviour as a leader within our Procurement group to implement sustainable change management through visible “hands on” leadership and ethical practice.
Escalate risks, non-compliance, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible senior management team and ensure that these are rectified.
