Process Engineer - Materialise Motion

Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the evaluation and validation of new materials and technologies related to 3D printed footwear and electronics to solve problems related to the processing of materials or the use of the technologies.

  • You will collaborate in a cross-functional team that works across the domain of 3D printed footwear.
  • You will develop efficient processes w.r.t. assembly of 3Dprints and footwear materials. 
  • You will collaborate in a team that works to produce dedicated electronical measurement tools with paramedical application. 
  • You assist in optimizing pre-designed electronics by in-house and out-house routes. 
  • You will perform tests and optimizations to increase the quality and economics of these technologies and productions.
  • You help to develop efficient practices, methodologies and technical improvements to ensure the framework to support operations in its production and quality KPI’s. 
  • You will embed these practices in SOP’s and introduce and implement these into our production. You can take a technical lead in project-based development.
  • You will participate in multidisciplinary projects, for example: the selection and introduction of new equipment and materials.
  • In case of quality deviation, you will use this as opportunity to drive improvement. Assess existing processes, report process status and quality changes. Perform root cause analysis and use this as a tool to drive process improvement'.

    The key to your success lies in the creation and execution of these projects in close collaboration with your colleagues from development, product and operational teams. You will work from Materialise Motion in Paal, Belgium and you will be part of a dynamic team reporting into Production Operations manager. You will work side by side with the Materialise Process Engineering team (HQ, Leuven, Belgium).

    Requirements

  • You have a master’s degree in science, engineering, bio-engineering or industrial engineering. 
  • Some experience as a process engineer or similar in a production environment would be a significant asset. 
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and Dutch. 
  • You have a hands-on mentality and are able to work independently in a structured way; 
  • Any experience in electronics, materials and/or footwear would be a significant advantage. 
  • You are result-oriented and have a can-do attitude. You see technical issues as a challenge/opportunity. 
  • You have a quality mindset and project-based approach. 
  • You are a good communicator and dedicated hands-on problem solver.
  • You have a broad/polyvalent knowledge and interest
