This is a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship to evaluate the role of microglia in glioma invasion and peritumoral epilepsy. The candidate should have a strong interest in translating their knowledge in tumor biologies into novel drug targets that could make a significant impact in the quality of life of glioma patients. The project will take advantage of cutting-edge technologies including stem cell-derived brain organoids, mass spectrometry flow cytometry (CYTOF), and intravital imaging to interrogate key immune drivers of tumor growth and mechanistic links to peritumoral epilepsy. The selected candidate will drive specific studies with guidance and support from the neuroinflammation team, while working closely with the epilepsy group and external academic collaborators.
* Ph.D. in Tumor Immunology, Imaging or Cancer Biology with a strong publication record.
* Significant experience using intravital imaging is required.
* Deep knowledge in tumor biology and hands-on development of rodent glioma models is required.
* Experience with tissue flow cytometry and immune phenotyping is highly desirable.
* Experience with iPSC-derived neurons and microglia is highly desirable.
* Hands-on experience with 3D spheroids and iPSC-derived glial cells highly desirable.
