« Network Integration & System Engineer »

Mission:

The Network Integration & System Engineer will be part of the LAND engineering department of THALES BELGIUM, which is responsible for the engineering of critical communication solution for homeland and defense customers. The Network Integration & System Engineer will be involved in the development and support of critical communication solutions designed on site at Thales Belgium. He or she shall be responsible for architecture and system design of networking solutions as well as to ensure its maintainability.

The Network Integration & System Engineer will perform key aspects of Systems Engineering, IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification) and service management (ITIL).

The Network Integration & System Engineer needs to be a technical passionate. Based on his/her previous expertise in IT or telecommunication networks, he/she will be eager to discover new technologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyse the customer’s needs;

  • Take the lead in the system specifications process;

  • Bring state of the art expertise for his/her field of expertise, specialty or domain;

  • Find the best solution and support the architecture definition to meet the customer requirements ;

  • Interface with the customer, for the technical related aspects of the solution;

  • Write technical specification definition and support the subcontractor choice for needed subsystem acquisition;

  • Prepare, configure equipment for Proof Of Concept (PoC) of solution;

  • Assure that the system and its sub-components (hardware and software design) are consistent and in line with the specifications and requested functionalities ;

  • Steer and manage the realization of the proposed solution together with the other team members and project management ;

  • Assemble the solution/product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions and performance, and to confirm that all requirements against which the solution/product has been designed are fulfilled ;

  • In charge of the technical documentation (High Level Design, Low Level Design, Configuration Documents, User Manuals, Testing plan);

  • Take the lead of the IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification) activities required to develop a solution achieving customer satisfaction;

  • Ensure the delivered solution is maintainable on the long term and remains operational after the delivery of the project.

  • Support clients in resolving technical problems and taking advantage of such opportunities;

  • Profile:

  • Engineering degree in Electronics / Telecommunications;

  • Previous relevant experience in end-to-end designing (architecture), 3rd party integration and prototyping IT systems.

  • Strong experience in troubleshooting of communication systems and Linux system administration is needed.

  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical integrations, technologies and processing environments.

  • In depth technical and architectural knowledge of traditional IP networking protocols

  • Knowledge of wireless networks, equipment and solutions is needed.

  • Interest in cybersecurity solutions.

  • Consulting and advisory experience with demonstrated skills in translating business requirements to technical solutions is necessary.

  • Customer satisfaction and results oriented;

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written;

  • Passion for technologies, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Fluent in French or Dutch And English (professional capacity).
