Mobile Payment Solution Engineer

Services offered by Worldline in the areas of Merchant Services; Terminals, Solutions & Services, Financial Services and Mobility & e-Transactional Services include domestic and cross-border commercial acquiring, both in-store and online, highly-secure payment transaction processing, a broad portfolio of payment terminals as well as e-ticketing and digital services in the industrial environment.


Within our Merchant Services organization, you will be responsible for the development of innovative payment solutions on mobile products (e.g. payment solutions on Smart Phones). You will be part of our business engineering organization and will manage a distributed international team of engineers and developers and will align the development with market needs and our Sales organization. Target markets for these products will be all Europe.

The offered position includes the following activities:


  • Lead international teams of engineers and developers
  • Manage variety of stakeholders (project managers, sales, market account managers, etc.)
  • Create a dynamic, exciting and innovative environment with involved people and beyond
  • Business Analysis for relevant Product(s):

  • Lead business analysis and engineering
  • Manage business engineers
  • Make sure requirements are analysed and reviewed by all relevant stakeholders
  • Collect estimates / planning approach / business opportunity (provided by requester) + review
  • Challenge requirements and business cases
  • Align with potential projects running in parallel
  • Align strategic topics with other important stakeholders (e.g. Value Added Service managers)
  • Defend cost and planning with relevant business boards
  • Follow-up and align stakeholders before, during, and after development periods
  • Management of appropriate tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Development:

  • Assure system specifications and documented system architecture
  • Manage an internationally distributed team of developers
  • Closely align business requirements with development
  • Build an Agile organization to quickly and efficiently implement the requirements and dynamically respond to changes business and market needs
  • Drive prioritization of the requests and closely align with stakeholders
  • Quality Assurance:

  • Assure sufficient quality of requirements documentation, source code, SW deliverables
  • Provide strategy for managed and efficient continuous improvement
  • Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and documentation for all relevant stakeholders
  • Research and Development:

  • Drive innovation and development of new ideas and features
  • Analyse possibility of fast prototyping and alignment with stakeholders to extract valuable features 
  • Create concept how to present value of innovation and features
  • Product:

  • Capability to turn Proof of Concepts into stable, exciting, valuable products
  • Provide technical basis to efficiently operate solutions
  • Provide concept for productive quality assurance and operation (defect management, issue management, monitoring, etc.)
  • The activities are largely focused on payment (terminal) applications, but might extend to related topics as terminal integration in customer cash register environment, various payment protocols and compliancy standard (e.g. PCI, EMV. etc.), Value Added Services, new technologies and payment solutions.

  • Proven Leadership skills
  • Engineer or Software developer (Master degree or similar)
  • Experience in managing teams of engineers and developers in an international environment
  • Proven experience in business analysis and how to extract market and product requirements
  • Deep knowledge of the terminal payment industry and related applications
