Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technology Solutions for Janssen R&D this position plays a leadership role in the Finance Systems and Reporting Team. This candidate has unique opportunity to understand the JRD business in its entirety, partner across JRD finance to drive value and efficiencies within the organization from both a system, process and reporting standpoint. The role will lead from the front and shape the visualizations efforts that will enable JRD reporting to provide critical insights and be prepared for the future. In addition, this role will be key in supporting the Beacon planning and forecasting system as we shape the landscape within Signifi and Anaplan. The successful candidate will have strong business partnering skills, a drive to learn the business and have the ability to learn the technical aspect of JRD Finance. In addition, the candidate must be able to collaborate with all levels of the organization and influence business partners. This includes coordinating, supporting, and leading projects, working collaboratively across functional areas such as Finance, PMO, IT, Clinical Functions, and Corporate. This individual will have the opportunity to present frequently to all level of the organization including senior leadership. This position will deliver value for the overall JRD organization by pursuing continuous improvements and recommendations across systems, processes and reporting to enable efficiencies across the JRD organization.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Work collaboratively to design and develop visualizations, dashboards and/or reports in a dynamic environment. Provide recommendations to enhance current reporting capability as well as anticipate future business needs.
Collaborate with business partners on data governance, support testing efforts, drive alignment with IT/business leadership on changes, and ensure conformance with enterprise standards. Drive prioritization and efficient completion of projects.
Engage with multiple user groups and gather analytics and reporting requirements to drive business impacts by solving unique problems through keen and creative analysis, continuous improvement methodologies, and change management in global organization.
Interact with database developers and users across the organization to ensure timely delivery of relevant and user-friendly reporting.
Identify operational improvements and lead teams to follow through on implementation of these improvements, including creation and update to procedures and training.
Support planning efforts through the coordination and execution of the relevant system procedures.
Lead and/or assist the data integrity effort, including the identification of critical required reports, development of the reports, verification of the reports, resolve the discrepancies and continued improvement of processes
Lead aspects of the JRD financial system (Beacon) from a planning perspective, including master data maintenance, lead system training for the organization and monitor system planning performance and develop recommendations for improvements
This individual will represent the finance system function in meetings with other functional areas for all aspects of integrated Planning, Budgeting in SEM and BW reporting.
Support the SigniFi EPM projects on an ad hoc basis including partnering with JRD SigniFi team to shape design and test the planning process
The successful candidate should have an aim to learn the business and technology systems, analytical mind set and must be have strong collaboration skills.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, or related fields is required
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience is required, preferably gained in a large or medium-sized organization
Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products industries is a plus
Ability to learn the business and conceptualize visualization tool capabilities with respect to business requirements is required
Experience with data modeling, mining, mapping and monitoring is required
Proven track record of strong collaboration and business partnering is required
Proficiency with Tableau/Alteryx is preferred
Analytical approach to thinking and operates with a sense of urgency is required
Proven implementation and problem-solving experience, including troubleshooting, performance tuning and resolving connectivity issues is required
Work independently and adapt to changes in a changing business environment is required
Proactive and result-oriented mindset is required
Strong influencing and communication skills are required
Great teammate and confident communicator, ability to lead and frame conversations with senior team members is required
Individual must work well and independently in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement improvements in execution, work independently and handle several tasks simultaneously
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access skills are required.
This position may require up to 10% travel
