Industrial laser-based 3D printing processes have been around for many years, but the industry must tackle many challenges such as production throughput, quality assurance, and manufacturing repeatability before 3D printing can become a robust, standardized manufacturing technology. Materialise developed the Materialise Control Platform (MCP) as a ready-to-start software-driven, embedded controller platform specifically for laser-based 3D printing applications. Researchers and engineers can build and improve additive manufacturing processes that are ready for industrial use to support innovation, research, and new applications in the market.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining parts of the embedded code on our targets. The embedded code runs on hardware from National Instruments and uses realtime Linux as operating system.

Qualifications & Experience
Your main tasks & responsibilities are:
* Developing realtime code for the MCP Controller;
+ Creating new features and interfaces to new hardware;
+ Optimizing the existing code set to improve runtime performance;
+ Creating Unit Tests and align with the testing team for integration testing;
* Supporting the process R&D team at HQ;
+ Aiding their need for code modifications;
+ Refactoring their code into production code;
* Keeping track of source code development via our source code control system;
* Supporting project management;
+ Translating requirements in a WBS (User Stories and Tasks);
+ Making estimations;
+ Interacting with the development team.
* You have a Bachelor or Master degree in electromechanical engineering, informatics, computer science (or equivalent);
* You have affinity with software & software development;
* You're interested in playing an active role in product development;
* You're hands-on, pragmatic, and pro-active;
* You're a quick learner, intrigued by the complex world of additive manufacturing;
* You have excellent (English) communication and problem solving skills;
* You are a team player.
add_circle Experience with LabVIEW Real-Time and/or FPGA and/or C/C++ is considered a major asset.
