We are looking for a junior IT Security Assurance Expert who will oversee the technical aspects of Information Security together with the team.
The Junior IT Security Assurance Expert
As a junior IT Security Assurance expert, you will support your senior colleagues and grow by systematically carrying out the following activities:
You will monitor the technical aspects of the security activities, measure their effectiveness, and report on them to the Chief Security Officer (CSO).
You will work closely with the Security Architect to ensure that security requirements are included in the IT Architecture within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
You map the security strengths and concerns of applications, projects and infrastructure by executing security assessments. Furthermore, you build and maintain an overview of the technical security vulnerabilities (exposure + vulnerability).
You maintain the overview of the security patch management.
By providing correct and complete security requirements to projects (business and IT projects) and monitoring their compliance (e.g. by ensuring that the code analysis, penetration testing, etc. are performed according to the guidelines), you support your colleagues within AXA Bank in implementing the appropriate security requirements. The CSO and the project manager are kept informed by your reports about the progress, issues and risks.
You supervise applications security testing, identify potential problem areas, and ensure that action plans are drawn up and monitored. In this respect too, you manage the necessary reporting.
You actively commit to continuing to develop and keep your own knowledge and skills in the field of IT Security Assurance up to date with and share it with your colleagues.
In order to quickly take up the role, it is preferred that you have a Master's degree (computer science, engineer, economics, etc.) and that you have gained some prior professional experience in the area of Information Security as well as some knowledge of the technical aspects.
Not only do others listen to you when you give advice about your expertise, but you can also convince them of the importance of your point so that they will apply it, and you dare to speak to others when they do not do enough to make a good, guaranteed secure solution. Furthermore, you also understand the art of translating complex concepts and ideas into 'layman's language.'
You have a strong affinity with and interest in IT technical matters, you can talk to others about this, even though you are not working in IT on a daily basis.
To be able to make yourself understood by your colleagues, you speak fluent Dutch, and you can express yourself professionally in English and French.
If you have a certificate of Security (such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, etc.), it is certainly an asset, but it is not a must.
