IT Lead & Business Analyst - BioPharma (m/f/d)

For our Swiss biotechnology facility based in Schachen in Switzerland, we are currently looking for an energetic and collaborative IT Lead & Business Analyst (m/f/d) to liaise between multiple functional areas (Process Research and Development, Preclinical Development, Quality, etc.) in Switzerland Research & Development IT Division (full-time, indefinite). The owner of this position can be based locally in Switzerland or work remotely from the UK, Germany, Prague or Belgium. Please note that not living in Switzerland means a regular travel requirement of around 50% to the local facility in Schachen.
THE PRIMARY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Functions as Site IT Lead:
Provide single point of accountability for IT to the site representing all IT functions including but not limited to IT Business Analysis, Application Management Services (AMS), Global Information Operations (GIO) and Lab Computing Services. The IT Lead is highly collaborative in working with both business stakeholders and IT partners.
Partner closely with the regional and global Research & Development IT groups to ensure alignment on IT portfolio, strategy, compliance, and share knowledge of learnings and activities taking part at the site. Actively participate in local and global portfolio development, provide strategic/technical input which helps the site achieve shared goals in an environment of trust and respect.
Prepare and continuously manage the local IT budget to meet annual profit plan targets. Take a lead role in identifying and achieving cost savings on both capital and expense spend.
Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory safety, GMP and Validation requirements. Ensure all systems are designed, built and operated to full SDLC requirements. Represent the department on the plant GMP and Management Safety committees and act as lead/sponsor for regulatory audits on key systems.
Liaise with Department Leads to align on site priorities. Sponsor projects and initiatives at site level as single point of accountability for IT matters at the site.
Manage the IT Operations support and contractual relations for IT at the site in line with business expectations. Ensure maximum availability of site IT systems and look for opportunities for continuous improvement.
Manage direct reports, contractors and vendors and lead a matrix organization through influence and clear vision.
Facilitate meetings with business colleagues on IT strategy, governance, and other topics.
Functions as Business Analyst:
Work with business sponsors to generate business cases for highest value needs, promoting both our standard IT technology and innovative technological solutions.
Develop project plans with clearly defined timelines and business outcomes, implement necessary risk mitigation strategies, and lead project execution.
Assess new technologies and vendors through pilots and site visits.
Work strategically and independently with internal and external groups.
Define scientific and user requirements for new systems and system enhancements.
Promote the effective use of IT standards and tools, while embracing the acute needs of a competitive research environment.
Influence strategic thinking to advance technology in support of improved operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and communicate accurate resource estimates and timelines.
Drive effective business governance of projects and post implementation oversight of applications.
Apply appropriate financial concepts (e.g. ROI, Cost/Benefit) to determine business implications of technology decisions.
Facilitate meetings with business colleagues on IT strategy, governance, and other topics
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (computer science, engineering, biology, chemistry, etc.) or equivalent qualification. A PhD degree in a scientific or technical discipline would be preferred.
Hands-on experience working as a business analyst in IT/Informatics with demonstrated success in leading technical evaluations, implementations, and upgrades. Ideally, 5 years of scientific or technical related job experience.
Knowledge of lab Equipment and lab Software. Ideally, professional experience working as a scientist or IT analyst in a drug discovery or development environment as well as experience with Biologics manufacturing.
Record of working in a team of multidisciplinary scientists and IT personnel, and operating effectively in a matrixed environment with a customer centric attitude
Experience managing a team of direct reports

Time management skills as well as project management ability.
Experience with Agile Development Principles.
Business-fluent English knowledge with effective verbal communication skills.
Ideally, experience with networking/subnetting and troubleshooting.
Data Sciences experience and programming skills in Python and/or R Shiny would be a plus.
