We are searching for an IT Director, Supply Systems and Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Development Systems BTL to join!

R&D IT Director, Supply Systems and CPDS BTL, will be responsible for the overall technology strategy, project management, and application support & development for the Chemistry, Pharmaceutical and Clinical Supply business function of JRD.

This role will partner across scientific functions including Small Molecule API Development, Pharmaceutical Development, Analytical Development, Clinical Make Network including 5 pilot plants and the Clinical Supply Chain functions to enable, accelerate and amplify the work of the CPDS group as they develop the Janssen R&D product pipeline.

The candidate will partner with the CPDS business partners in defining the project & release management strategy, including scope, schedule/timeline, resources, and budget, as well as have end-to-end accountability for the delivery of projects and releases. This role will require 1) education, experience and expertise in drug development and supply and associated ways of working on a global scale, 2) project management, 3) portfolio management, 5) analytics, 6) systems integration and 7) system development at the scale of the worlds largest healthcare company

This role will focus on innovative and evolving capabilities, for chemistry and associated sciences in as part of the $300MM investment in building a world class Development Capability. The IT Director will lead large to moderate to complex projects, global programs, or initiatives across the franchise and/or enterprise.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Set Strategic IT Direction for Chemistry and Pharmacology Development systems. Direct technology based plans, budgets, risk analysis, integrations and data flows between Discovery, Chemistry Development, Clinical Supply and Commercial Supply Chain Systems.
  • Direct Operational oversight, management, plans, budgets, staffing, contracting, Supplier management, service level agreements, contracts and regulatory compliance and procedures for systems and processes in scope.
  • Diversity and Inclusion in staff and Supplier management, development, assignments, performance evaluations, recruiting, retention and community outreach. Facilitate technologies needed to achieve J&J goals in fair recruitment and treatment of patients globally.

  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.
  • 10 years IT experience and 7 years of relevant and related experience in IT leadership.
  • Proven understanding of drug development and supply.
  • Proven understanding of process engineering data models and integration solutions.
  • A consistent track record of project delivery and business relationship management.
  • Understanding of R&D development, particularly small molecule development, processes.
  • Ability to translate business requirements to technology solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills – operate as an independent leader with understanding and appreciation of the global/enterprise context.
  • Strong consultative and facilitation skills.
  • Strong presentation skills – can speak across various forums and communicate to broad, diverse audience.
  • Experience with large scale portfolio clinical, clinical data warehouse and/or clinical operations technologies such as: Biovia, Perkin Elmer, PAS-X, NGENCODAC, OMP, IVRS.
