HCI Senior Solution Engineer

Job summary :

The hyper converged , hybrid cloud Solution Engineer will drive VMware’s Storage virtualisation products to customers, leveraging an extended team that includes VMware’s core salesforce, SEs, OEM partners and partners across the territory.

You will have experience of getting results through your own sales engagements and through harnessing the power of the channel as well as a deep understanding of new storage technologies and how the drive for digital services, cloud first strategies and cost savings can be used to build positive relationships and to deliver significant sales success. A consistent record of successful and smart selling in this meaningful and changing business environment is crucial.

This extended team is driven to a common goal within an assigned territory. SDS is a key component of VMware’s Software Defined Data Center strategy. SDS enables customers to achieve the agility, flexibility, and cost savings required for modern datacenters. The SDS sales team will work in coordination with VMware’s sales team + VMware’s partner network.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for selling HCI and VMware Cloud Foundation platform (VCF)
  • Drive account portfolio sales strategy and focus on a given territory and establish (pre)sales cadence with the core sales teams
  • Embrace the strategy leveraging the channel partners
  • · Focus on top tier accounts and collaborate with Inside Sales and channel partners to ensure complete coverage of other segments.

    · Match the SDS solution to the client’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements

  • Develop solution proposals encompassing all aspects of HCI, with an emphasis on VSAN
  • Engage with technology decision makers (CIO, CTO, Solution Architects, VPs and Directors of IT); building relationships, evangelizing VMware solutions, and providing domain expertise to assist in closing business
  • Participate in pre-sales efforts including technical sales presentations, architecture design discussions, daring displacement, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops
  • Analyzes customer's business and technology objectives by asking probing questions that are meaningful to the customer in order to collect information that enables the sales team to be more effective and responsive to customer’s needs
  • Craft and propose custom solutions that differentiate VMware software and services, and meet customer’s requirements and objectives
  • Ensure success of customer proof-of-concepts (POCs)
  • Build a document portfolio of compelling sample reference architectures that demonstrate the value of VMware solutions in real-world scenarios
  • Document client feature requests and issues, providing feedback to sales and
    product management
  • Present VMware’s technical & business value proposition at industry events
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of VMware and domain expertise within technology subject area
  • Skills

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch/French
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills are essential in order to work successfully with customers in high stress and or ambiguous situations
  • Strong work experience in different technical domains
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment
  • Proven experience creating business plans, organizing channel sales campaigns, driving marketing campaigns and sales initiatives - all focused with the end goal of driving quarterly sales targets
  • Strong customer facing presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences
  • You should have experience and knowledge of various storage technologies/vendors and know how to position vSAN HCI among them.
  • The position will be located in Zaventem, and covering the BeNeLux region.
