Anheuser-Busch InBev seeks a Global iTech Engineering Specialist II to strengthen the team. iTech Engineering is the Global Innovation and Technology Engineering team of AB InBev responsible for the development of new engineering capabilities and business solutions through new technology opportunities in order to transform the supply chain into a sustainable, flexible and efficient operation. 

The team is working out of the Global Innovation & Technology Center (GITEC) in Leuven, Belgium. At GITEC, a diverse team of more than 120 scientists, engineers & specialists, pulling from more than 20 nationalities, work diligently to shape the Future of AB-InBev. iTech Engineering reports into Global Brewery Support (GBS), a diverse team of technical experts in all brewery domains. 

Purpose of the Job:

As part of the iTech Engineering group, you will shape and drive the “Brewery of the Future” program through the development, engineering and implementation of technology initiatives that transform our supply chain. 

The development of new technical capabilities and business solutions is at the heart of the role. These solutions need to contribute to a sustainable, flexible and highly efficient operation of the future. The new capability would be implemented across our 6 geographical zones (North America, Middle America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific). 


Accountabilities:

  • You drive and support Brewery of the Future initiatives through the development, engineering and implementation of new technologies in our Brewery operations to ready them for the future.
  • You will deliver in collaboration with the team the engineering development scope of global and key zone innovation technology projects, working close together with interdisciplinary teams ensuring project development and implementation is on time, in quality, on budget and according the defined performance criteria.
  • You will scout new technologies to ensure the Supply Chain of the Future strategy and roadmap is supported
  • You will build a professional network with our OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners, so that ABI becomes their preferred engineering partner. You will ensure ABI is at the forefront of innovation engineering (r)evolutions brought to market by suppliers.  
  • You will interact with the commercial innovation team and match technical capabilities/solutions versus their needs to enable great new consumer products.
  • You will identify, validate and qualify new technology providers and alternative technology suppliers.

Business Environment:

  • iTech Engineering is a multi-disciplinary function requiring comprehensive knowledge and experience of the various functions within brewing and beverage manufacturing operations or experience working in different Food & Beverage operations (CPG/FMCG).
  • The iTech Engineering team is organized in an agile structure. So, projects are managed in an agile & collaborative way. Scrum methodology is used across our initiatives. To be successful the role will require building and maintaining strong partnerships with other Global and Zones functions.

  • Open for frequent travel

Profile:

  • University degree in a relevant Engineering field. MBA is a plus
  • Preferably a complementary advanced level degree, providing further exposure to technology engineering and management together with an understanding of commercially oriented business knowledge
  • Min. 5-8 years of professional experience in an engineering capacity either in packaging, utilities or brewing
  • Successful track record in managing engineering projects, specially linked to innovation and technology development.
  • Good leadership and communication skills, interpersonal relationships, persuasion skills. Ability to work in teams.
  • Critical thinking, ability to challenge, ability to summarize and prioritize. Sense of urgency is key, thus act as an owner. 
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken), other language skills constitute an additional asset.
