To strengthen our Procurement department , based in our Production site in Braine-l’Alleud , Belgium , we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Global Category Manager Procurement.

The Global Category Manager Procurement will be joining the team as a strategic sourcing manager part of the Global Manufacturing Procurement team and you will be responsible for managing a variety of projects across the areas of direct spend from Raw Materials to Contract Manufacturing Organizations. In your role you’ll be required to work transversally with our colleagues, especially in development and manufacturing, to deliver best value across the direct and CMO spend portfolio whilst carefully monitoring the risk and supply continuity.

  • You will contribute by:
     

  • Managing sourcing projects and initiatives, connecting with your business stakeholders, conducting negotiations with suppliers and coordinating contract finalization
  • Proactively identifying sourcing opportunities and or propose improvement solutions
  • Analyzing demand, market trends and opportunities
  • Becoming accountable for the design, update and execution of specific category strategies
  • Assisting senior management in transformation initiatives from design to execution, the establishment of enabling foundation processes and systems, the improvement of source to procure, innovation, sustainability, risk mitigation, digitalization, etc.
  • I nterested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
     

  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in procurement environments in a buyer or category management role.
  • Experience in direct procurement raw materials (required) and CMO procurement (plus), background in the Pharmaceutical industry is beneficial and relevant academic backgound
  • Mindset and behaviors that are aligned to working in a global pharmaceutical company where compliance, reputation management and the highest ethical standards are at the heart of our values
  • Enthusiasm in sharing expertise and experience with other within your own discipline
  • Willingness to work autonomously and in teams… playing different roles.
  • Flexibility in operating within established procedures and practices. Yes, we do have rules and processes to follow. But we promise, this won’t make it less interesting and definitely, never boring!
  • Business Analytics and storytelling: combine data visualization with narrative techniques to deliver insights in a way that engages decision makers in a compelling and easily embraced form. Be honest on this! We may select you anyhow!
  • Still we expect you to provide solutions to moderately complex or infrequently occurring problems by doing proper investigations and data gathering.
  • Great communication skills - Ability to build and maintain effective relationships of trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Presents and discusses results and projects in your area of responsibility. And yes, often it’s to senior management or…above!
  • Market Intelligence: ability to leverage market information to drive change and more impactful results
  • Execution: ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure, ideally with a good dose of humor… especially for those moments. Project management and coordination skills are often required due to the complex nature and scope of many of our projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into concrete projects and deliver on them. We’d love you to suggest improvements to any existing process within and outside of procurement
