On Microsoft’s Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) Public Affairs team, you’ll join a group of communications professionals focused on telling the stories to demonstrate the company’s commitment to building trust, and contribute to solving some of the world’s big challenges. The Public Affairs team is also part of the broader Microsoft Communications team, so you’ll join a large, diverse group of professionals focused on innovative communications with significant opportunities for career growth.
The Public Affairs communications team works on issues at the intersection of technology, public policy, and societal impact. We manage external communications on topics that drive daily news cycles and public discussion about the impact of technology around the world. This includes work to increase the understanding of issues like privacy, cybersecurity, ethical use of technology, environmental sustainability, accessibility, and philanthropy.
In this role, you will report to and work hand-in-hand with the Director of European Policy Communications to manage communications for a broad range of corporate communications and public policy issues for Microsoft in the EU. You’ll be working closely with colleagues on the Public Affairs team, our European Government Affairs team as well as the EMEA regional communications team and in-country leads across Europe to support issues-based communications. You will tell stories, lead communications moments and announcements, manage reputation impacting reactive issues, and engage reporters. You will also have a passion and relevant experience with digital storytelling, including development and distribution of content, such as video, long-form features, blog posts and graphics, social media management and performance analytics.
The role is based at Microsoft’s EU office in Brussels, Belgium.
