What are your goals

The AWS Cloud/Devops Engineer will be working with the engineering team and focusing on AWS infrastructure and automation. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code. The Engineer will work closely with the Manager of Operations and Devops to build, manage and automate our AWS infrastructure.

As a DevOps Cloud Engineer, you will analyze client workflow, validate architectural specifications for customer migrations, design and develop automation to build and maintain customer infrastructure, and help determine the best solutions for a successful project.

You will support our organization to adopt Cloud native solutions whenever possible. This key role will work with business stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the company's overall strategic direction. To be successful in this role the candidate must have deep knowledge cloud technologies and align technology solutions to specific business objectives.

What would be your responsibilities

  • Manage on premise enterprise IT server, database and storage infrastructure

  • Manage Active Directory and Linux based systems and middleware

  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS

  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements

  • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code

  • Develop operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of systems and functions

  • Provide designs, prototypes and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry standards

  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision

  • Write well-designed, testable and efficient code using full-stack engineering capability

  • Actively participate in the team’s Agile/scrum activities 


    What experiences would we like you to have

  • At least 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining enterprise and AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, Amplify, Amazon DocumentDB, S3)

  • Strong understanding of required security and hardening of enterprise and AWS environments to meet compliance requirements

  • Experience with system rightsizing and optimization

  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure

  • Solid foundation of networking, security and OS administration

  • Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins and deploying applications on AWS

  • Experience with open-source inventory and monitoring tools

  • Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools

  • High scripting abilities and understanding of monitoring solutions

  • Personal skills

  • Dutch is your native language; you are proficient in English and knowledge of German is an asset
