The Clinical recruitment and communication specialist is responsible for the development of the recruitment activities through recruitment process improvements, database optimatization, as well as communication activities and campaigns related to Pifzer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) , promoting clinical research awareness and optimizing the recruitment of clinical study participants

* As a key member of the PCRU recruitment department, the Clinical recruitment and communication specialist will work closely with the Clinical Research Recruiters, Patient Recruitment manager and in-house study teams, by managing a portfolio of Early Phase projects from launch to delivery. He/she will also liaise closely with internal and external marketing & communication professionals.
* Support the overall recruitment strategy and operational needs
* Act as mentor for Clinical Research Recruiters and other recruitment staff members (screeners and Admin staff) when necessary
* Ensure compliance of regulatory requirements related to the protection of volunteer's confidential data

Database Development
* Responsible for development and maintenance of the BR-PCRU subject/patient recruitment capabilities to conduct a broad range of studies
* Identify, explore and implement new methods for subject recruitment and retention to extend the panel of subjects
* Work closely with the Clinical Research Recruiters and the Patient Recruitment Managerin terms of ensuring the relevant target groups are reached and helping to increase the database
* Maintain accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality of volunteer records and reports at all times

Recruitment Activities
* Contribute to the assessement of the Clinical study recruitment strategy and adjust/improve the strategy along the study course if required.
* Prepare letters, handle text messaging, mailings or other communication methods towards subjects
* Ensure quality, follow-up and time schedules are met, and provide administrative support when necessary
* Create, write and update recruitment related documents for subject use as appropriate
* Assist in reviewing assigned Customer Program Engagement (CPE) protocols and ICDs, as appropriate in view of recruitment

Communication activities:
* Act as a relay with Coperate Affairs and Communication (CA&C) Benelux for the PCRU
* Develop and ensure media strategies and campaigns based on PCRU requirements are in line with Pfizer's global product development vision, mission and values:
* Responsible for the development of classic communication projects such as preparing ad drafting press release, Q&A, infographics, …
* Pro-actively create external networks with journalists by building and maintaining durable relationships.
* Develop content of social media to align with the PCRU image
* Provide engaging text, video content for social media to increase visibility of PCRU (Erasme and Hasselt)
* Represent the PCRU on global initiatives as subject matter expert, as appropriate
* Responsible for setting up and creating strategies in view of educating the lay public about clinical trials in both Belgium and cross border to increase the awareness of the PCRU trials
* Promote positive image to help advance Clinical Research
* Participate in the communication of study related meetings
* Responsible for recruitment campaigns, including the design, drafting & publication of advertisements in various media as well as ensuring internal and external (EC) approval has been achieved
* Networking with Key internal and external stakeholders to enhance the reputation of the Business
* He/she will manage and implement recruitment campaign with the support of the recruiters. He/she will manage and implement an appropriate recruitment campaign
* Work closely with NH on a joint venture of promoting clinical trials on Clinical Trials International day
* Participate in Communication Community Meetings (1 / quarter - Alternating organization): Meeting with all comms colleagues from the BE sites), represent PCRU in those meetings, follow up on action points and report important changes / projects to management
* Ensure an adequate/appropriate assignment of Pfizer spokespersons at PCRU: make sure spokespersons are trained, retrained and available to represent PCRU in case of media queries
* Collaborate to manage the PCRU website: develop content for the PCRU website and keep the website up to date
* Collaborate to social media community management : provide input in case of comments and reactions linked to PCRU social media content
* Collaborate with PCRU Medical Scientific Advisor to promote clinical activities of the BR PCRU
* Ensure the Leadership team are kept abreast of all strategic activities

* Responsible for complying with Pfizer Standards, ethical standards, ICH, regulatory and legal requirements, national and European laws on health and safety at work, fire prevention and other appropriate legislation
* Interacts with external partners (E.g. Marketing and communication agencies, specialized recruitment vendors,…)
* Participate in the creation and implementation of global and local SOPs and act as subject matter expert as required
* Participate in training courses as appropriate and identify any potential training gaps

* Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent per experience
* Previous experience (5 years) in functions involving brand management, communication, marketing, copy writing
* Previous experience in functions involving a large part of administration and/or in healthcare environment is an asset
* Previous experience in functions involving a large element of people contact

Competencies required
* Recognized internally and externally as technical/functional expert in Phase I clinical systems and recruitment disciplines.
* Ability to communicate effectively with upper management , colleagues, subjects, external customers
* Strategic understanding
* IT Skills
* Must have excellent working knowledge of computers, and familiar with Microsoft Office Applications - Extensive knowledge of Excel is an asset
* Good knowledge of the use of new media(E.g Social media, virtual meeting applications, mobile applications,…)

* Clinical Research
* Have a good understanding of drug development and hands on experience with clinical conduct of phase I studies is an asset.
* Language Skills : Excellent written and verbal skills in English, French and Dutch are essential. Knowledge of any additional language would be an advantage.

* Competent in delivering presentations and training both large and small audiences, e.g. Recruitment Team meeting, Quarterly PCRU meetings, Meetings at La Plaine etc.
* Good knowledge of the Belgian media landscape (online, print, AV)

* Reports to Volunteer Recruitment Senior Manager
* Matrixed relationship to the clinic study team and peers in the PCRU
* Functional reporting relationship to clinic medical staff in areas of medical oversight and intervention for study subjects
* Networks and collaborates with other Pfizer CRUs to ensure organizational consistency of standard operating procedures.
