Business Analyst

We are conducting a review of the modelling function in MS Amlin to include process, operating model and applications. This will include the design and implementation of new or updated applications, changes in resourcing, business processes and operating model (as required). The objective is to simplify the process, organisation and IT architecture to realise operational efficiencies and improved service to the numerous customers of modelling. Due to the interdependencies with other functions this project will need to consider the impact of changes on: Catastrophe modelling Exposure management Technical pricing Portfolio Management This is where you come in. You can help MS Amlin to achieve this by: Working in the European AISE Change Portfolio Team responsible for gathering the business requirements and supporting the central PMO team out of AISE in ensuring strong Change Portfolio Management governance & processes; Liaising extensively with internal and external stakeholders translating requirements into a clear specification of business / technical requirements. Performing analysis and design activities by eliciting, defining, validating and translating business functional, non-functional and information objectives. Analysing existing systems and business models, mapping and documenting interfaces between legacy and new systems. Gathering a deep understanding of the data within the systems and business processes supported by the system(s). Partnering closely with business, technical and 3rd party teams supporting data movement, application development and testing. Producing, analysing, validating and managing requirements definition, flows and deliverables for the project(s). Ensuring appropriate project documentation is compiled and proper review and approvals from respective teams is gathered and collated. Supporting and leading where needed the various activities between the teams, for the implementation of the new exposure management solution and associated databases and systems, to ensure the business and technical requirements and objectives are met. Carrying out research, data collection and analysis of business issues in order to support the Business SME’s; Building of relationships across Business Change, IT and the business areas; Identification of improvement areas within AISE and the wider business in order to increase productivity and reduce costs; Ensuring that the outputs are of high quality and adhere to the internal project methodology; Supporting the UAT phases of projects; Embedding change; PMO support (status reporting, AISE Project Committee preparations, ….), working closely with Project Managers, ePMO in ABS, Business & IT leaders What we are looking for: Proven ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and user communities. Strong sense of prioritisation and execution against critical deliverables, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for key projects deliverables Experience/knowledge of Exposure Data schemas, Exposure Reporting and general Exposure Management principals 6+ years Business Analyst experience Ability to work with and understand data, data mapping, data modelling and data lineage. Ability to analyse processes and data in order to prioritise and design an implementation approach Ability to construct, communicate and agree business requirements with key stakeholders across a number of business functions Ability to design Target Operating Models Good insurance / financial service industry background; Knowledge of core insurance processes in the European Market; A good understanding of assessing and re-engineering business processes; Ability to multitask and to work tasks with limited supervisory interaction; Ideally you will also have (but not essential): Knowledge of the Sequel Impact Exposure Management product Insurance experience echnical background and understanding of databases BA qualifications held (or significant progress made on these)
