AV Technician


As AV Technician, your role will be to work closely with, and support, Headline’s Chief Technician.

Your tasks also include:

  • providing technical support to camera operators and editors
  • facilitating live transmissions in a TV studio
  • supporting broadcast and live streaming productions on location in Brussels and across Europe
  • maintenance and configuration of audio and video infrastructure
  • performing small electronical field repairs when necessary.

  • Experience in a similar role being a very big plus
  • Technical background in the AV profession and a strong interest in, and experience with, AV technology, especially video cameras
  • Must be in tune with the latest technological developments in the broadcast sector
  • Have a strong practical and theoretical knowledge of editing equipment, software (Adobe Premiere in particular) and workflows (ingest, transcoding, delivery)
  • A good working knowledge of IP networking to use technologies like NDI and Dante
  • Excellent knowledge of streaming codecs, protocols and workflows (H264-HEVC Encoding, Transcoding, RTMP, SRT, HLS, CDN, HTML5 player…)
  • Scripting languages (PHP, MYSQL, CSS, JavaScript, HTML5) are a big advantage for the role. If you lack experience, you must at least be keen to learn and develop your knowledge
  • Speak and write fluently in English, French and Dutch
  • Punctual with great attention to detail
  • Comfortable working both alone and in a team
  • In possession of a driver’s license type B
