Within the Test Subsegment, we are searching for a Business Developer - Automotive & Transportation for the team in Leuven, Belgium.

Objective:

The main focus for this function is on:
* Maximizing sales of existing products and services for the assigned market segment (Automotive & Transportation)
* Supporting the launch of new solutions
* Deal support for large (named) opportunities
* Training of regional sales and presales engineers

This position reports to the Director Business Development - Test.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Maximize sales of existing products and services for the assigned market segment
* Support regional sales organizations by defining and executing sales programs
* Leveraging successes from one region to another
* Guiding regional offices to go to new market segments with existing products
* Ensure availability of required sales materials
* Develop & maintain a view on market potential for the assigned market segment
* Work with Test Subsegment Management to set targets for the market segment
* Analyse market segment & define strategy to maximize market share for LMS
* Work with Product Management to improve the product lines
2. Support launch of new solutions
* Help enabling the sales of the relevant solutions through the regular field sales force
* Training of sales and presales engineers on new solutions
* Work with regional sales engineers to develop first reference accounts for new solutions
3. Deal support for large (named) opportunities
* Act as liaison person between the regions and the Test Subsegment in support of larger deals
* Coordination of efforts in support of technical and commercial close of the opportunity
* Work with Product Management and Product Development Management on required product customization or extensions
* Report on progress for the assigned opportunities
4. Training of the regional sales engineers
* Ensure that sales engineers are sufficiently familiar with the offering in order to represent the solutions effectively in front of the customers
* Ensure availability of training materials for sales

Profile
* University degree M.Sc. in engineering or higher
* Knowledge of theory and background wrt. acoustics & vibration testing, basics of fatigue
* Knowledge of the SISW LMS Test product portfolio (LMS SCADAS/LMS Test.Lab) and/or competitive solutions (B&K, Mueller-BBM, Head Acoustics, HBM, Dewetron, …) is an extra asset
* Knowledgeable about engineering process in automotive & transportation
+ Structural testing (Shaker testing, Impact testing, Modal Analysis, …)
+ Acoustic testing (Binaural measurements, Sound Quality, Sound source localization, Material testing, Pass-by noise, …)
+ Signature testing (Engine testing, Gearbox testing, Torsional vibrations, …)
+ Environmental testing (Sine/Random/Shock testing, Time Waveform replication, …)
* Experience in technical/commercial customer contacts
* Languages:
+ Fluent in English
+ Knowledge of German and/or French are extra strong assets
